Purpose: Contributes to the overall success of the Equities Trading business in the US ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responsible for facilitation of client orders when appropriate and managing/reducing market risk associated with such action.
  • Responsible for making markets in US listed equities and committing capital in order to facilitate new client interest/order flow and managing/reducing market risk associated with such action.
  • Covers certain client accounts in a sales trading capacity with equities flows and potential equities trades.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Leverage Buy Side relationships to uncover new trading relationships. This would include exploring synergies across business areas within GBM and translating product knowledge on both new and existing lines of business.
  • Collaborate with Equity Sales and Trading team members to develop other bespoke trading products; For example, EES, options, Custom equity baskets and Reverse-Conversion facilitation, MLP Swaps
  • Leverage knowledge of all US research and trading products to identify client opportunities within the Equities and Options franchise, resulting in increased revenues.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of equities trading experience at a sell-side firm
  • Licenses: SIE, Series 7, 63 and 57
  • BS or BA in Finance, Economics or Mathematics.
