Field Service Technician - Solar

Main Responsibilities:

  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze Schneider Electric solar (PV) inverters.
  • Follow company policies and standards for service reports, expenses, and site behavior.
  • Must possess good safety practices and adhere to the company's safety procedures/polices (lock out tag out, comply with all safety programs, and complete safety-related trainings on time.
  • Working with your Manager and/or Regional Service Director to resolve complex escalated issues.
  • Perform electrical preventative and corrective maintenance on Schneider Electric Utility-scale inverters.
  • Retain and apply technical knowledge gained from experience and in-depth training.
  • Keep PPE up to date.
  • Keep local inventory list up-to-date (on vehicles/Storage).
  • Perform site audits as necessary.

Skills and Requirements:
  • An Associate's degree, trade/vocational certification, Military training or similar experience in electrical-related disciplines.
  • The ability to read blueprints/schematics.
  • Thorough understanding of principles of AC and DC power, various AC and DC supply circuit components
  • Retain a high-level knowledge of electrical and control circuits with troubleshooting ability.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • 1+ years of experience in power electronics and controls circuits.
  • Previous utility-scale solar or variable frequency drives experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PV systems preferred.
  • Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Work outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, and dust.
  • Able to virtually collaborate with different team levels, including peers, back office and engineering personnel.
  • Customer satisfaction focused, able to understand client needs, and do everything possible to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Up to 80% Travel.
