We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commissioning Engineer to lead and support the commissioning of advanced electrical and cooling systems. This role involves hands-on testing, documentation, and collaboration across engineering, production, and service teams to ensure high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
What will you do?
- Lead and document Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Perform project start-up activities in the factory and verify system performance before shipment
- Support production and service departments with technical expertise
- Conduct pre-energization checks including HiPot, Ground Continuity, and Insulation Resistance tests
- Assign and complete functional test templates
- Ensure power sign-off by cross-functional teams and complete all commissioning scripts
- Report lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of AC/DC power principles
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Skilled in using test and diagnostic equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Familiarity with power/control systems, PLCs, and NEC standards (preferred)
- Communication & Documentation
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
- Ability to write service reports, procedures, and professional correspondence
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Safety & Compliance
- Adherence to safety policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Awareness of NFPA-70E or OSHA standards (preferred)
- Ability to identify and report workplace hazards

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Experience
- 3-5 years in field services or a related industry
- Hands-on experience with:
- UPS systems, power distribution, switchgear, PDUs, and ATS
- Electrical, electro-mechanical, or electronics-related equipment
- Electrical and cooling systems
- Data Center Infrastructure
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks (bending, stooping, lifting up to 40 lbs)
- Able to stand for extended periods
