This position will report into the US Medical Immunology team which is a segment of the Medical Affairs Specialty Care organization.

Our Medical Affairs function serves as a valued strategic partner with Clinical, Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access on therapeutic solutions to support patients' needs. The US Medical Immunology team is proud to support Sanofi's deep commitment to chasing the miracles of science to improve the lives of patients.

Job Description:

This position reports to the US Senior Medical Director, Respiratory.

Main job responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a robust, integrated medical plan for all respiratory products.
  • Provide medical expertise to Clinical, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory and Alliance partners.
  • Develop and maintain close professional relationships with Key Thought Leaders and Healthcare Practitioners within the medical and scientific community.
  • Lead medical and scientific advisory boards to capture insights and translate into medical strategy.
  • Provide disease state and product expert training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify data gaps and manage local data generation activities.
  • Support the Clinical Study Unit in the execution of prioritised clinical trials.
  • Support the review of Investigator Initiated Study proposals according to applicable SOPs.
  • Provide medical review and approval of promotional and medical materials in compliance with corporate standards and government/industry regulations.

About you

  • Education: MD, PharmD, PhD in the Respiratory therapeutic area.
  • Work Experience: Significant US experience in headquarters Medical Affairs Launch and Life Cycle Management activities preferred. Strong track record in developing and executing medical strategies in the US is preferred.
  • Skills / Knowledge:
    • Highly skilled at developing and executing US medical strategies. Strong knowledge of US clinical development.
    • Recognized expert in respiratory medicine strongly preferred.
    • Scientific acumen: In-depth understanding of the scientific method and ability to apply this information for business needs based on medical and scientific rationale.
    • Relationships and Influence: Highly effective at internal and external stakeholder management; politically astute with strong cross-functional teamwork and collaboration.
    • Strategic thinking: Ability to disrupt status quo with innovation while remaining pragmatic and focused on priorities. Ability to translate innovative strategies or solutions into actionable plans.
    • Results orientation: Driven to develop and execute optimal strategy. Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to adapt with agility, while able to anticipate potential issues, and engage in thoughtful risk taking.
