Position Overview:
Business and functional leader responsible for overall business strategy, customer relationship and joint business plan to deliver net sales, profit, sell-out and share growth targets across Samsung's smartphone, tablet, computing and wearable categories at Amazon. This role will lead a cross-functional team of ~15 employees' / contractor associates across sales, marketing, business intelligence, and operations. This role will serve as part of the Amazon leadership team.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLANNING

  • Develop & align long-term and near-term strategy and specific initiatives, considering company direction, customer priorities, market parameters & resources, designed to deliver sales, share and profit goals.
  • Lead & enable team to develop thought-leading initiatives and insights that influence account & national strategy.
  • Aggregate & analyze large amounts of complex data quickly and distill data into clear, viable action plans.
  • Allocate resources where investment has the highest payback and with initiatives of strategic importance/relevance.
  • Drive annual, quarterly and monthly business planning process for Samsung's Mobile Experience categories.
  • Monitor market trends, assess risks/opportunities and develop insight-based plans to address.

ACCOUNT LEADERSHIP

  • Lead joint business planning with senior executives across Samsung and Amazon to align targets & growth building blocks to enable sales/share targets.
  • Issue clear direction and guidelines concerning objectives, goals, strategies and KPIs; and enable team to deliver monthly, quarterly and annual business targets.
  • Improve relationships and expand scope of influence across Amazon leadership by adding value through thought leadership and strategic partnerships.
  • Consistently evaluate ROI and investment, and make appropriate choices and adjustments.

CROSS FUNCTIONAL TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Build a best in class, cross-functional team that embraces innovation, data driven decision-making and creativity to deliver top and bottom line results.
  • Develop strong, collaborative working relationships across the organization to ensure alignment to strategic choices, business plans, resource allocation and KPIs.
  • Ensure individual/career development, motivate and coach direct reports to maximize team potential.
  • Spearhead the recruitment, motivation, development and retention of professionals who can deliver sustained (profitable) revenue growth. Instill a culture of accountability and empowerment, performance-based management, teamwork and other best practices to achieve the goals of the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years-experience in sales or a related field, within related industry (Electronics, CPG, Food & Beverage, retail, etc.).
  • Minimum 4 years of Amazon-specific experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering sales/site experience KPIs.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer sales/marketing principles. Experience in supporting and facilitating cross-departmental interdependencies.
  • Strategic thinker, passionate for achieving near & long-term success via hands on, solutions oriented approach.
  • Strong business acumen, superior analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights and initiatives to drive top/bottom line growth.
  • Proven ability to successfully develop and own a customer relationship and strong track record of building collaborative internal/external relationships.
  • Excellent negotiator and influencer, leveraging business analytics & insights to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skills as a change agent, leader, and performance coach to develop talent.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, flexible and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, highly organized with the ability to manage timelines and objectives effectively. Strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • High-level of confidence, integrity, enthusiasm, executive presence that fits a fast-paced, energetic and proactive organization.

The salary range for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, and actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role. However, the salary ranges in the following regions are expected to be as follows:

  • Washington State: $207,000 to $228,500

Regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) have access to benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Employee Purchase Program, Tuition Assistance (after 6 months), Paid Time Off, Student Loan Program (after 6 months), Wellness Incentives, and many more. In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for MBO bonus compensation, based on company, division, and individual performance.
