We are reimagining the future of commerce. We are looking for a visionary Vice President of Engineering to lead the transformation of Salesforce Commerce into an agentic commerce platform-one where intelligent, autonomous agents empower retailers and shoppers with deeply personalized, context-aware, and proactive experiences. This leader will own the development of core technologies including a cutting-edge agent platform, a world-class search and discovery engine, and advanced AI-driven experiences that revolutionize how people find, evaluate, and buy products today-and tomorrow.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Engineering Transformation: Architect and scale a multi-year transformation of Commerce Cloud from a traditional eCommerce system into a dynamic, AI-first agentic platform.
  • Build the Agent Platform: Design and deliver the core runtime and tooling to enable retailers to create intelligent shopping agents that can act on behalf of consumers across channels.
  • Develop World-Class Search & Discovery: Build scalable, real-time search infrastructure and a discovery engine that combines user intent, behavior, context, and product data to deliver magical experiences.
  • Drive Merchant Innovation: Partner with product and UX to enable merchants to reimagine their digital storefronts-from linear, click-driven flows to conversational, assistive, and immersive journeys.
  • Scale with Trust & Performance: Ensure systems meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and compliance across global retailers.
  • Lead and Inspire: Grow and lead high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, with at least 5 years at the senior executive level.
  • Proven experience building and scaling AI-native platforms, search infrastructure, or agent-based systems.
  • Deep technical understanding of LLMs, search algorithms, recommender systems, and cloud-scale architecture.
  • Strong track record in eCommerce or digital retail tech, with a passion for redefining the retail experience.
  • Strategic and visionary mindset, with an ability to translate big ideas into working systems and business value.
  • Exceptional people leadership, organizational design, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $307,100 to $491,500.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
