Join us in a transformative journey to deliver Salesforce's unified platform and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Salesforce and Google Cloud have embarked on a groundbreaking partnership to revolutionize customer relationship management (CRM) through advanced artificial intelligence (AI). As Senior Director of Engineering, your crucial responsibility will be to drive the integration of Salesforce applications by delivering Salesforce HyperForce on GCP. You will have the unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI, cloud computing and infrastructure and contribute to enabling a full suite of Salesforce applications on Google Cloud.

We are looking for a leader for the Monitoring Observability and Big Data systems. You should have deep experience in delivering large-scale systems and experience in owning services at a very high scale in an efficient and automated way. A strong understanding of telemetry pipelines, infrastructure platforms for metrics, logs, traces, and incident response workflows is critical. Familiarity with SRE tooling, chaos engineering practices, and cost visibility solutions is highly desirable.

Experience Required:

  • Manage, hire, and nurture a world-class organization to deliver cloud observability, monitoring, infrastructure automation tools on our public cloud platforms
  • Overall 20+ years experience and 10+ years of experience as a hands-on software engineering leader.
  • Experience leading large organizations that have a distinguished track record on delivering technically demanding products which have been released for wider consumption
  • Experience running large scale observability monitoring and big data service teams
  • Service ownership experience of cloud-based distributed services running at B2C scale
  • Experience in hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers, managers and manager of managers
  • Possess outstanding written and oral communication skills, highlighting critical details to executive leadership while retaining ability to hone into details.
  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development environment. Agile mindset, ability to iterate, take risks and evolve.
  • A strong adherent to software engineering best practices which enable building world-class products such as unit testing, modular code, right abstractions, continuous integration mindset, etc
  • Strong data structure and algorithms skills and extensive programming experience, preferably in object-oriented languages.
  • Working knowledge of public cloud technologies and experience with large enterprise migrations is desirable.
  • Masters / Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Equivalent Experience

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $211,500 to $351,800.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $230,800 to $384,100.
