The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager, Workplace Services to lead our Event Workplace Services Function across our Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) portfolio. This pivotal role will primarily focus on our premier specialty spaces at Salesforce Tower Sydney, including a state-of-the-art Auditorium, the Ohana 3-floor village, Level 51 outdoor terrace, campus-wide employee social lounges, a dedicated lobby space, and the Salesforce Innovation Centre (in collaboration with our Marketing team).

This role is crucial for fostering meaningful connections among customers, guests, visitors, and employees, thereby accelerating our business and reinforcing Salesforce values. You will be instrumental in ensuring event success through world-class hospitality, requiring strong stakeholder relationship and vendor management and proven experience in executive-level customer engagement and leadership interaction and thorough process management and direction.

Reporting to the Senior Director of JAPAC Workplace Services, you will oversee and support all Event Full-time Salesforce Employees, manage associated outsourced vendors within the Event and Guest Services team, ensuring seamless alignment and cross collaboration across Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) teams. Real Estate and Corporate experience is an essential element in understanding facilities and office management operations that overlap with events. This position demands a leader who can cultivate a high-performance culture, emphasising achievement, teamwork, continuous training and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Real Estate Spaces & Portfolio Management: Possess a comprehensive understanding of all facets of soft and hard services related to our diverse event spaces and associated technology and equipment.
  • People & Vendor Management: Direct report management of Event Full-time Salesforce Employees. Lead and manage event-related vendors, including the Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) JLL provider, ensuring high standards of service delivery relation to scope and SLA agreements.
  • Event Curation & Execution: Design, plan, and execute strategic, impactful events that bring together customers, non-profits, guests, and employees to drive engagement, collaboration, and business success.
  • Executive Engagement & Experience: Deliver consistently high-quality, premier event experiences for executive-level stakeholders, reinforcing Salesforce's premium brand image and commitment to excellence.
  • Operational Excellence: Continuously drive process improvements in event management, focusing on enhancing process efficiency, scalability, and alignment with overall company goals and objectives in association with our Global Hospitality/Facilities/ MEP Centres of Excellence.
  • Financial Management: Own, manage, and meticulously track event budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation, cost efficiency, and financial accountability.
  • Communication & Storytelling: Develop compelling event narratives that effectively highlight Salesforce's unique culture, innovation, and philanthropic initiatives, significantly enhancing stakeholder engagement.
  • Data & Analytics: Leverage Tableau dashboards to rigorously track event performance, measure impact against key objectives, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Training & Development: Lead ongoing training and professional development for the Guest Services and Events team, focusing on Meeting & Events (M&E) App enhancements, Slack workflows, event processes, playbooks, SOP's all contributing to delivering best practices.
  • Team Coordination & Collaboration: Oversee the meticulous coordination of all Event Vendors, Internal Employees Business Partners and Embedded Contractors to guarantee seamless event execution from conception planning to event execution and completion.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership: Work closely with cross-functional internal teams, including Marketing, Salesforce Innovation Centre, External & Internal Communications, Not For Profit and Employee Success to expertly execute company-wide events and strategic programs.
  • Global & Local Event Support: Provide robust local support for global events, including Company Kickoff, Salesforce Birthday, World Tour, a variety of Executive & Employee Resource Equality Group events and Employee Engagement/ Success (HR), to expertly execute company-wide events and strategic initiatives.
  • Brand & Employee Experience Enhancement: Play a key role in enhancing the reputation of Salesforce Tower Sydney as a top workplace by driving innovative engagement initiatives and authentic employee storytelling.
  • Compliance & Safety: Foster strong collaborative relationships with cross functional Global Security & Safety Teams and various Business Partners ensuring all events and spaces are strictly adhere to company policies, strategies, health and safety legislation and compliance standards. Including density occupation, RSA, risk assessments and food health and safety laws.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Proven expertise in event and project management, preferably gained within a B2B, high-tech, or fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management, with specific experience working with an Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) provider.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of successfully managing diverse Employee teams, external vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to execute large-scale events, including conferences, executive programs, product launches, and trade shows.
  • Expertise in vendor negotiations and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly collaborative mentality with a proactive, problem-solving approach to challenges and conflicts.
  • Excellent project management skills and a strong initiative for identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Strong analytical approach with practical experience in event data reporting, performance measurement, and comprehensive financial management.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite Workspace and collaboration tools such as Slack and Quip.
  • Experience using IT/AV tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, and various webinar platforms.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside traditional business hours and travel locally/internationally as required for event execution and virtual connection on calls with Centre of Excellence Team Members across the globe.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a global company, managing large scale events and partnerships across multiple regions.
  • Knowledge of the Salesforce brand, culture, and product positioning.
  • A genuine passion for fostering workplace connections and enhancing employee engagement and experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to align event strategies and execution with core company values, including sustainability, accessibility, and philanthropy.
  • While the core of the role is events, the management of people, real estate physical spaces, vendor relationships, and compliance directly ties into corporate real estate principles, experience working in a dynamic Corporate environment or Real Estate department is desirable.
