Position Overview:
Salesforce is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to expand our strategic policy engagement and enhance our presence with policymakers and policy influencers throughout EMEA. We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record of success in developing and executing public affairs strategies, with a particular emphasis on building and nurturing strategic relationships within the European context. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EU and European country-level policy-making processes and possess exceptional skills in managing external relationships, crafting compelling narratives tailored for the European audience, and navigating complex regulatory landscapes. This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively communicate our company's values, goals, and contributions to various stakeholders, including government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and civil society.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Relations & Engagement:
- Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies focused on helping the government affairs team build and strengthen strategic relationships with key EU decision-makers, policymakers, and influencers.
- Proactively identify and cultivate new strategic partnerships with EU institutions, industry groups, think tanks, and other relevant organizations to advance Salesforce's policy objectives.
- Represent Salesforce at high-level meetings, conferences, and events, actively engaging with stakeholders and building strong networks.
- Manage and coordinate joint initiatives and collaborations with strategic third party partners to enhance Salesforce's influence and reputation within the EU.
Strategic Communications & Policy Advocacy:
- Develop and implement strategic campaign plans to effectively convey Salesforce's mission, values, and public policy initiatives.
- Craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse European audiences, ensuring consistency in messaging across various channels.
- Oversee research programs relevant to EMEA policy discussions and contribute to data-driven policy decision-making and messaging.
- Work closely with corporate communications and the global government affairs team to drive public policy narratives in EU media outlets and forums.
- Create external-facing collateral and amplification materials for the Global Government Affairs team and company executives specifically tailored for EMEA audiences.
- Support the execution of media partnerships and paid media campaigns within the EMEA context.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and mitigate reputational risks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, European Studies, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related field, with a strong focus on EU policy and institutions.
- Proven success in developing and executing comprehensive public affairs strategies within the EU context.
- Deep understanding of EU and European country-level institutions, legislative processes, and regulatory environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in other European languages is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire collaboration within a team.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of your time.
