The MuleSoft Community team is looking for an experienced Associate Manager to lead its global user group program (MuleSoft Meetups), as well as its Community-led conferences, Community special events, and help support our footprint at Salesforce's corporate events (Dreamforce, TDX, MuleSoft CONNECT, World Tours). MuleSoft Meetups are led by local volunteers from our customer and partner accounts, who step up to bring their local communities together and share their knowledge. They are a key asset to evangelize MuleSoft at scale.
This role requires a strong balance between strategy, planning and execution. The MuleSoft Community team counts 4 members to handle a 160,000-member community. Focus, efficiency, prioritization and a strong sense of ownership are must-have, while also having empathy and good relational skills.
This role has strong growth potential for the right candidate, as it can be extended beyond events in 2026+.
As an Associate Manager, Community Events for MuleSoft, you will be responsible for the following:
- Define the strategy to grow and sustain our user group program; ensure we have a presence and vibrancy in key hubs; review the program's health metrics and report on those regularly;
- Plan and execute on engagement campaigns to 1. encourage our Meetup Leaders to host more events and/or cover specific topics that are important to the company; 2. Drive new Meetup Leader applications; 3. Drive more members and more engagement in our groups;
- Handle the program day-to-day: monitoring new events being published, answering leader requests, handling swag inventory and orders, reimbursement requests, maintenance of the resource library...
- Support the enablement of our Meetup Leaders on our new product releases and best practices; make sure they are keeping their product knowledge up to date;
- Help source great contributors from customer accounts (Meetup Leaders, speakers) who can be further funneled into our advocacy programs.
- Drive the organization of our special community events, such as our yearly Community Leader Summit, and 2-3 yearly online conferences co-hosted with our Product teams;
- Support the Community Leaders who host Dreamin' conferences for MuleSoft: our involvement in those is limited to ensuring they follow the application process and if approved, that they receive their sponsorship packages and other perks;
- Help support the MuleSoft Community's footprint at Salesforce's corporate events such as Dreamforce, TDX, MuleSoft CONNECT and World Tours. This includes collaborating cross-functionally to weave Community across sessions, keynotes, booths, ancillaries, etc. as well as supporting our own ancillary events.
- You will work with leaders across functions, and a world-class team of passionate marketers will support you in your journey. You will also collaborate with the Salesforce Trailblazer Community, which is the largest community in the software industry.
Your skills and qualifications should include:
- BA or BS degree; or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, community management or event management;
- Experience at an enterprise software company is a plus;
- Experience with the Bevy event platform is a big plus;
- Prioritization, adaptability, critical thinking: you are a self-starter who can self-prioritize tasks and remain productive with minimal supervision. In the very faced-paced environment at Salesforce, critical thinking and adaptability are a must to ensure you are focusing on the right thing at the right time.
- Great interpersonal skills: you love listening to customers and getting them to explain their use cases; you love working with multiple stakeholders at once and keeping everyone aligned;
- Analyze and creativity: you have a balance of data-driven, analytical skills with demonstrated creative campaign wins;
- Clear and concise business writing, comfortable with public speaking, and good executive presence;
- Time management and teamwork: you are able to manage deadlines and work collaboratively in a highly dynamic environment;
- Travel: Ability to travel regionally and globally.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $101,900 to $140,200.
For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $101,900 to $140,200.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
