Job Summary
In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
In this role, the intern will support our team, collaborating closely on test related activities. This can include activities like definition of Test and Integration events, generating related documentation such as test procedures, integrating and troubleshooting software in a lab environment, working with system requirements and understanding the technical baseline of the system, and supporting Agile development by participating in daily program Scrum meetings and providing status for assigned tasks.
This position is an onsite role.
This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
- (Sophomore Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Sophomore by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
- (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
- (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
- (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
What You Will Do Supporting the SI&T team in an Agile DevOps environment:
Requirement analysis and allocation across test phases; support to overall test strategy
- Test plan/procedure development
- Support the development of automated test scripts and their execution

- Regression testing and fix verification
- Help to maintain the program's Technical Baseline, including working in the DOORS Next Generation (DNG) requirements database
- Supporting preparation and conduct of Agile program reviews
Qualifications You Must Have
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2025
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Basic demonstrated knowledge (including academic or professional experience) of programming (e.g. Java, C++, C#) or scripting (e.g. Python)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Internship experience supporting system integration and test events for a software-based system, including regression testing, test scripting, and/or test automation tools
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Agile and DevOps
- Proficiency with Linux OS, programming (e.g. Java, C++, C#), and scripting tools (e.g. Python)
- Experience with test automation and related tools, (Eggplant, Cucumber, Gherkin)
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
