Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Associate Production Coordinator who possess a passion for project management and game development.

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in Oakville, ON. 

WHAT WE DO

  • The Design team creates moments of exciting action gameplay, ultra-real slices of ambient life, and everything in between, implementing many of the complex systems that underpin our worlds. 
  • Our content spans many genres and types of gameplay. Our designers bring their wide knowledge of gaming, game design, and outside culture to make every aspect of our games world class. 
  • We assume responsibility for programming our content and systems, creating scripts which are often complex and intricate, both for single player and online games. 
  • We think creatively and while we work to design briefs, designers have many opportunities to shape our games from the ground up. 
  • We work closely with all departments, bringing together narrative, art, code systems, UI, networking, animation, audio, and many other elements to create immersive gameplay. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide production support for all our global titles. 
  • Liaise with directors, leads and wider teams to prioritize work and monitor the workloads of individual team members.  
  • Produce long-term planning reports, organize sprint meetings, track project progress, and follow up on dependencies with other departments to ensure timely resolution. 
  • Liaise with QA and build teams to understand and communicate priority issues to technical directors/leads, and coordinate structured testing of major new features.  
  • Investigate new bugs by gathering data from QA, deduplicating issues, and identifying patterns in bugs that might indicate a deeper problem. 
  • Collect and organize key information for daily and weekly project updates, and develop detailed reports to support other departments. 
  • Create and maintain documentation including meeting notes, design documents, weekly updates, emails, and video tutorials/demos for key features. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in quality assurance, project management, or other related positions. 
  • Degree/diploma in game design or a related discipline. 

SKILLS

  • Highly motivated, organized, personable, and able to work as part of a team.  
  • Strong comprehension skills and ability to interpret complex tasks and workflows.  
  • Demonstrated ability to write accurate and descriptive bug reports. 
  • Proven ability to communicate and comprehend technical information in both written and oral form. 
  • An aptitude for working in a deadline-focused team environment. 
  • Self-motivated and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills. 
  • An eagerness to learn new software. 
  • Strong data management skills. 
  • Great interpersonal skills. Must be able to work closely in a team setting and with other departments. 

PLUSES

  • An interest in and passion for video game development.  
  • Participation in any academic or industry research or complex project development. 
  • Professional experience in quality assurance, software or video game development, or similar industry. 
  • Experience with: 
    • Project management 
    • Game creation or modification tools  
    • Perforce or equivalent source control software 
    • Jira or equivalent bug/project tracking software 
    • Visual Studio 
    • Batch, Python or PowerShell scripting 
  • Experience reading and analyzing technical output and/or crash dumps. 
  • Degree/diploma with a technical focus (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc.).
  • In-depth familiarity of Rockstar Games products.
