We're searching for a Reporting Manager to join our Rakuten Rewards team in our San Mateo office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and manage the financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly and annual close schedules, including various reporting packages.
- Prepare and manage the statutory financials, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuations analysis.
- Responsible for managing statutory audits and preparing statutory financial statements.
- Assist with preparing tax returns and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist in managing quarterly reviews and year-end audit completed by the Company's external auditors.
- Drive projects and tasks, provide finance guidance, and serve as the point of contact for accounting and business partners to resolve issues.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls and company policies.
- Evaluate, document, and enforcement of procedures and policies.
- Research and resolve accounting issues, including evaluation, documentation, and implementation of applicable accounting pronouncements to ensure US GAAP and IAS compliance.
- Design and produce reports in Oracle Cloud, SmartView, or other reporting tools to enhance business health visibility.
- Create custom reports in Oracle Cloud and provide report writing support as the subject matter expert, including ad hoc report creation, testing, troubleshooting, and training.
- Provide accounting support to the Management on special projects as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
- 8+ years of accounting experience
- Big 4 or national accounting firm experience is preferred
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues in accounting and business partners across the entity to understand the business and apply knowledge to reporting and financial statements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables and perform v-lookups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence in professional aptitude and ability to effectively convey skills and knowledge to non-technical internal and external customers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adept at handling change as well as multiple concurrent projects
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required, as is the ability to research issues, prepare evaluations on problems and recommend viable solutions.
- Experience with large ERP systems; Oracle is preferred

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
USD $78,651.00 - $135,216.00 annually
