Regular Duties/Aufgaben:

The Regulatory Reporting Manager is responsible for managing regulatory reports of the German legal entities. The regulatory reporting happens across- business line, country, legal entity and management unit in accordance with the specific regulatory requirements. The incumbent will manage and monitor the complete, accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with Accounting Standards, resulting in the production of the regulatory reports. The Manager is responsible to lead, initiate, propose, plan, implement and execute initiatives which support the regulatory reporting process. The Manager is reporting to the Head of European Bank statutory, consolidation and regulatory reporting and will have a matrix reporting line to the German country controller.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain, coordinate and implement procedures and systems to ensure a strong operational control environment with respect to regulatory reporting.
  • Manage the production of regulatory reports for the German entities including statistical, prudential and liquidity reporting.
  • Provide support to the manager supporting the business and business partners departments on the impact of new business and new regulatory rules
  • Provide support to the projects to support the business in its objectives as regards to regulatory reporting and compliance with new regulatory rules and advisory work on business changes and restructures.
  • Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory developments, as well as maintain their knowledge of External Reporting requirements and procedures.
  • Work with other functional and business areas such as Corporate Treasury, Risk and Compliance, Legal and Business line management in the production of regulatory returns.
  • Initiate, participate, prepare and perform ad hoc investigations and projects related to regulatory reporting.
Risk Management Responsibilities

Tone from the Top - Ensure that a strong risk management and governance culture is embedded within the Business Unit by promoting the 'Three Lines of Defence' model (by working collaboratively with the Second and Third Lines of Defence to identify risks, conduct root-cause analysis, implement remediation activities and to communicate lessons-learned findings) and by developing and implementing strong risk practices across the Business Unit (including the use of the RCSA as the key management tool to actively manage risk within the Business Unit).

Risk Competence & Knowledge - Understand the Business Unit's Risk Appetite and how this relates to the legal entity infrastructure and the legal entities under which the Business Unit operates and the legal entities through which the Business Units' client(s) contract and the impact that this has on the Business Units' regulatory operating environment.

Accountability - Ensure that responsibilities related to risk management are clearly defined and understood throughout the Business Unit to ensure that risks are identified, escalated and remediated in an effective and transparent manner.

Other Risk Management Responsibility - Ensure that Business Unit operating procedures and other key directive controls (eg. checklists) are maintained on a regular basis to ensure that they are adequately designed, continue to be an effective risk management tool and are being used as required.

Throughout continued and effective oversight, ensure that appropriate Key Risk Indicator (KRI) measurements and tolerances are in place and are agreed with Senior Operations managers and LoB Risk Management.

Qualification/Qualifikation
  • A university degree (or equivalent) in a financial discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of finance experience in a transaction intensive service industry, preferably financial services.
  • Experience and knowledge of administrative and internal control best practices.
  • Experience and knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements of Germany.
  • Highly analytical and strong communicator at all levels and across functions and disciplines.
  • Need to be able to perform under time pressure while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Self-starter, able to take responsibility for the span of control that is given.
  • The function requires strong interpersonal skills to be able to show results and motivate people across disciplines to work together to get the job done.
  • Must have the ability to interact with higher levels of management and demonstrate effective leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate highly effective problem-solving skills.
  • Results oriented.
  • Highly effective written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective in business partnerships.
  • The work-environment is not limited to the Finance organisation but entails working with colleagues across the organisation and with third party providers.
  • Experience with accounting systems, spreadsheets and reporting packages.
  • Very good German and English language skills, written and verbally.
