Service Support Engineer
Overview
Rain Bird is a global leader and provider of quality water management products and services. We offer a broad range of water management products in the industry for sporting arenas, golf courses, commercial developments, and some agricultural applications, in more than 130 countries around the world.
The GSP Engineer provides remote and onsite technical support to Rain Bird Customer in Asia Pacific Region. The ideal candidate will possess skill in Irrigation engineering, IT technical support, Irrigation design concepts and practices.
Must be proficient in speaking English and Japanese OR Must be proficient in speaking English and Korean
This role will require working hours that align with Korean Standard Time ( KST)
Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support to both internal and external customers, distributors and field personnel.
- Participate in the 24/7 GSP support program.
- Configuration of Hardware for Irrigation application.
- Remote marketing and selling of GSP services.
- Direct ASP for installation, maintenance, commissioning or repair projects.
- Conduct onsite, remotely and classroom training.
- Travel as necessary, including overnight to meet service requirements at specific customer sites.
- Support the development and implementation of revenue generating services such as Service Contracts, Data Plans, Weather Station Plans, audits and spare parts sales.
- Provide field/technical information to engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing.
- Liaise with International GSP support teams.
- Log, track and follow-up on product and technical issues.
- Communicate as needed with other Rain Bird functional areas to ensure customer issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Engineering /Agronomy or equivalent
- 5 years relevant experience
- Technical support experience.
- Experience in AutoCAD design.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Process oriented.
- Knowledge of electronics and Information Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Must be proficient in speaking English and Japanese OR Must be proficient in speaking English and Korean
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Irrigation and Golf Central Control programming experience.
- Golf Course or Landscape experience.
- Mechatronics and electrical knowledge.
- Business Development skills.
