Process Engineer III - Extrusion

This Process Engineer III - Extrusion role is pivotal in driving new process development, troubleshooting, equipment installation, training, documentation, testing, and overall enhancements of our extrusion lines. While extrusion experience is preferred, we value a proactive and innovative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support safety enhancement initiatives on the extrusion lines.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for extruded products.
• Define and refine pre/post processes to maximize efficiency, yield, and productivity.
• Provide engineering support by troubleshooting extrusion processes and tooling and defining maintenance requirements.
• Perform sustaining engineering functions as needed.
• Support new product development and resolve quality issues.
• Drive process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma techniques, including FMEA and Design of Experiments.
• Implement corrective actions in projects and daily operations.
• Innovate and justify significant product design improvements to reduce costs through alternative materials, redesign, and labor optimization.
• Be available for travel and maintain a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with a strong background in manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and resolving processing and equipment issues.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent communication and Project management experience, with a team-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in Six Sigma and Lean techniques.
• Experience with Design of Experiments and Measurement Systems Analyses.
• Demonstrated success in improving processes and increasing line efficiencies.
• Ability to educate and address technical processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project).

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced degree in Engineering.
• Experience in Continuous Extrusion manufacturing.
• Experience in equipment improvement projects.
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in plastic extrusion, preferably with LLDPE/LDPE materials.
