Retail Set-Up Coordinator - Miami, FL

To oversee and coordinate the delivery and installation of all Publix supplied equipment in all retail construction projects including new stores, remodels, and special projects.
Additional responsibilities include:

  • ensuring projects are completed per Publix plans and specifications
  • for training and coordinating activities of set-up and installation contractor
  • providing field measurements for all cabinetry to the Facilities Cabinet Shop and ordering installation materials
  • assuring code and regulatory compliance such as OSHA, ADA, and life safety
  • for participating on project improvement teams and task forces
  • responding to emergencies after normal working hours

  • Associate's degree in a construction-related course of study or equivalent level of documented construction experience
  • 3 years of experience in retail setup and/or general construction
  • knowledge of construction industry principles and best practices
  • knowledge of blue prints, detailed construction drawings, and installation manuals
  • knowledge of carpentry and millwork
  • knowledge of CQI methodologies
  • knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and on-line document sharing
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • interpersonal skills
  • ability to schedule and supervise out-sourced installation contractors on multiple projects simultaneously
  • project management skills
  • willingness to travel, including overnight
  • willingness to work extended schedules as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • willingness to attend industry-related courses and seminars
  • willingness to be on-call 24/7 for emergency response


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related course of study or equivalent level of documented construction experience
  • 5 years of experience in retail setup and/or general construction
  • knowledge of ADA (American Disabilities Act) requirements and methods used to achieve compliance

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in December. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
