PGIM, Inc. (PGIM) is currently seeking a Compliance Manager to support the Real Estate businesses of its Private Alternatives platform in Newark, New Jersey. PGIM is the asset management business of Prudential, Inc. and manages approximately $1.2 trillion in client assets, as of September 30, 2023, across multiple strategies. The PGIM Private Alternatives businesses include PGIM Real Estate, PGIM Private Capital, and Montana Capital Partners. This position provides direct, day-to-day compliance support to PGIM Real Estate. The ideal person will be knowledgeable in alternative asset classes, private funds, and investment advisory issues to assist its Chief Compliance Officer in overseeing a full range of compliance matters, which include:

  • Promoting, protecting, and setting the tone to reflect the firm's reputation for ethics, integrity, and honesty in all dealings.
  • Work with all levels of management to ensure appropriate regulatory processes and controls are established and documented.
  • Assist regulatory, auditors and business unit management with regulatory issues, exams, and inquiries.

The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Develop and effectively administer a compliance monitoring program including, but not limited to, portfolio reviews, anti-money laundering, client documentation, gift and entertainment reporting, FCPA reporting, new account reviews, conflict mitigation, etc.
  • Work closely with our third-party consultants to drive compliance testing and reporting to satisfy regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Manage broker-dealer related matters working with the sales team & Prudential's broker-dealer.
  • Assist with matters such as new product development, risk governance committees, compliance metrics; and act in the support of matters involving the non-Americas businesses where necessary.
  • Develop and foster relationships across PGIM Private Alternatives management.
  • Manage regulatory filings including Forms ADV & Form PF.
  • Organize and deliver consistent compliance related training, and reinforce all compliance-related communications.
  • Assist in coordinating global compliance activity in the various PGIM Real Estate offices.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of compliance experience, ideally in an investment management organization.
  • Experience in alternative asset classes, private debt/equity, secondary markets, private funds, etc.
  • Real Estate experience is highly preferred, and/or experience in alternative asset classes, private debt/equity, secondary markets, private funds, etc.
  • Experience with Reg AB and Fannie/Freddie originations & underwriting guidelines; Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR's); rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, Morningstar) mortgage servicing requirements.
  • Experience with Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act requirements and/or analogous non-US regimes.
  • Ability to work with team members and business constituents from afar.
  • Proven communication, analytical and project management skills.
  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills are desired, including experience and ability in dealing with senior management.
  • Ability to reach sound judgments and act quickly under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940; other federal securities laws and rules thereunder; ERISA, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • Advanced degree in finance, compliance, or law.
  • Practical FINRA knowledge.
  • Experience in public markets.

The salary range for this role is from $115,800.00 to $172,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
