Principal Ultrasound Engineer (San Diego, CA)
Job Description
Provide technical leadership in the design/development of our next generation Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) products that are helping to save lives around the world.
This role requires previous experience working with Ultrasound.
Your role:
- Applying acoustic wave propagation and signal processing theory to the design and specification of new imaging algorithms and imaging sub-systems.
- Leading development and implementation of new ultrasound imaging capabilities, including development plans, algorithm design, integration strategy, and SW implementation.
- Participate in the design, development, and integration of new ultrasound systems and transducers.
- Tune IVUS systems for optimum image quality on a range of transducers and imaging features. Also, work closely with customers to understand their needs and evaluation of new designs.
- Help translate marketing/customer requirements into engineering specifications.

- 10+ years of experience in the field of medical imaging research and/or product development with the majority being in the development of Ultrasound Imaging Systems.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. PhD desired.
- Expertise in Matlab.
- Ability to plan, lead, and execute laboratory research and experimentation.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Office / Remote position with some elements of a Clinical position.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position is $120,000 to $200,000, annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus may be offered.
