Senior Analyst - Statutory COE

Dalian, China

Job Purpose:

From an operational perspective, the Statutory Audit and Reporting Center of Excellence ("SAR COE") has a number of accounting responsibilities. In particular, the group is responsible for end to end Local GAAP reporting activities.

The Accountant will assist with coordinating the statutory audits within their assigned countries and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of audit deliverables. The Accountant will maintain Local GAAP ledgers ensuring information is updated in a timely and accurate manner. The Accountant will also be responsible for identifying inefficiencies with a view to developing and implementing more robust processes within the group.

The Accountant will act as a point of contact for all statutory reporting related technical queries for their assigned markets from within the statutory reporting group as well as from other stakeholders.

There are additional operational areas where the Accountant could become involved. These include:

  • Acquisitions
  • Divestures
  • Analytical review of data

The Accountant would take responsibility for the above named tasks/transactions, with oversight/guidance from the Operations Lead. There are also a number of project responsibilities that may arise.

Job Description:

  • Assist in coordinating external audits within assigned countries.
  • Prepare Financial Statements in line with Local GAAP conventions
  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the assigned countries, within the Global GBS teams, Market Finance, KPMG and EY
  • Act as a point of contact for all statutory related technical queries for their assigned markets
  • Contribute to team effort and assist colleagues as needed to balance workloads
  • Work with the SAR COE GBS Dublin team to identify opportunities for Regional and Global continuous process improvement and innovative solutions so the Global team can operate in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Participate in and coordinate projects that require creativity and analytical skills
  • Local regulatory reporting
  • Escalations to SAR COE GBS Dublin where required

Education, Skills and Experience Required

  • Education:


  • University Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting


  • Skills & Experience:


  • Minimum of three years of related accounting experience required
  • Ability to work independently, to work under pressure and to handle several projects at once
  • Experience in preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP, IFRS, Local GAAP) with experience in financial statement preparation
  • Experience in dealing with external auditors and overseeing the audit process
  • Financial migration experience in a shared service environment is desirable.
  • Proficiency in PC skills (inc. Word and Excel)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical thinking, and organisational skills
  • Language skills are preferable though not essential.
