Sr. Marketing Manager - Pepsi Brand Communications

Overview

The Sr. Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Brand Communications for the Pepsi Cola Trademark, with core responsibility of leading program communication initiatives for one of the most iconic beverages in CPG.

This role leads the development and execution of Pepsi product and program marketing campaigns, including those supporting high-growth sublines, such as Pepsi Zero Sugar and Pepsi Wild Cherry, and other full Pepsi TM media-to-shelf 360 campaigns, as required. The candidate should have the ability to grasp key brand and audience objectives that will drive business performance in-market, and also possess an affinity towards key cultural pillars such as sports, music, food, and fashion, in order to create consumer-centric and culturally-relevant campaigns that will also contribute to driving increased demand for our products.

This role is a critical driver of building equity with consumers, supporting our business growth objectives with relevant and timely media campaigns, and delivering on the brand's AOP initiatives. It will require the individual to work up and across a complex matrix, secure buy-in from key internal & external stakeholders, navigate external partner and agency relationships, and develop a deep understanding of the creative development process from insight to execution. The candidate should have a willingness to develop strong relationships across Media, PR, Design, Commercial, Sports, Multicultural, and other cross functional partners. Strong agency management skills will be needed to help navigate the creative work from initial brief, through concept & production, to final execution via a complex media mix, while securing Sr. Leadership alignment throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the brand strategy for key Pepsi Product & Program campaigns to drive brand equity against brand jobs to be done, through consumer-centric and culturally-relevant insights
  • Develop integrated marketing communications briefs that can build to full 360 activation
  • Lead the briefing & creative process with agency partners
  • Navigate each creative project through production to successful launch, in partnership with creative agency, Direct Focus, Talent, and PR/Media teams
  • Take ownership in driving 360 activation against Pepsi campaigns, bringing along key brand leadership and cross functional stakeholders in support of the shared goal of flawless execution and positive impact on the brand's business growth objectives
  • Support in advancing the Pepsi marketing capability, leveraging cutting-edge innovation, data, curiosity, and a test & learn mindset to build new creative muscles for the team
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Media, PR, Design, Sports, Commercial, Multicultural, Legal/TM, Consumer Relations, and Agency partners
  • Lead, manage and support 1 direct report, and act as a thought leader among the broader Pepsi Comms team

Compensation and Benefits :

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $114,700 - $192,100 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years marketing brand experience, including agency management, marketing strategy and leveraging insights
  • Experience managing high visibility brand marketing / communications campaigns in a fast-moving consumer goods category preferred
  • Ability to independently drive alignment within a highly matrixed set of stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a bias toward action and a curiosity to learn
  • Significant experience working with external partners preferred
  • Interest in sports, music, and food culture preferred
  • BA/BS Required; MBA not required, but preferred
  • Travel ~10% of time
