Our growing fintech payments company is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing large data sets, building data pipelines and data marts within Cloud Native environments/databases to uncover insights and drive business decision.

Moreover, he/she will be involved in functional analysis, performance tuning, ETL and Data Engineering release management as well as the overall architecture and design of the whole solution.

What you will do:

  • Design, implement and maintain modern data pipelines, data models and ETL processes within AWS environment mainly using Snowflake database integrating various DB- and non-DB-sources to support analytics and reporting
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data models and analysis
  • Continuously monitor, optimize and scale Data Warehouse/ Data Lake processes and applications
  • Define and implement data quality assurance methods
  • Participate to the team data strategy, its implementation and data management approach
  • Build and train basic machine learning models to provide actionable insights

To be successful you need to have:

  • BA degree in computer science preferred or equivalent education
  • 2+ years' experience in a Data Engineer role in the areas of complex Data Warehouse and ETL development. Experience with Oracle, Oracle Data Integrator will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong SQL knowledge; must be able to write complex SQL queries as part of the data analysis
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Native databases like AWS/Azure Snowflake/ Data Stack/ Databricks
  • Performance analysis and tuning of ETL and Cloud Native databases environment with databases > 25 TB
  • Experience with various types of source systems (files, cloud, unstructured data, JSON, xml)
  • Good knowledge of Linux / Bash Scripts
  • Experience with machine learning and Python for data analysis is a plus
  • Relevant experience in Ecommerce and/or Payment industry would be a plus
  • Ability to work in dynamic, international environment using agile BI development process
  • Strong initiative and dedication to quality; self-motivation and self-reliance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; working command of English
