This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S.

Reporting to the SVP, Client Advisory, the VP, Office of the Field CISO, is a pivotal leadership role within Optiv's Client Advisory organization. This individual will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and scaling a team of highly skilled Field CISOs, who act as trusted advisors and strategic security leaders for Optiv's clients. This role requires a visionary leader with deep cybersecurity expertise, exceptional business acumen, and a proven track record of building and managing high-performing client-facing teams. The Field CISO team are key contributors to Optiv's brand, client relationships and retention, sales pursuits, and industry thought leadership. The VP will be instrumental in building and developing the team, alignment to Optiv's strategic goals, driving client success, expanding Optiv's market presence, and shaping the future of Optiv's capabilities.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Field CISOs, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Define performance metrics and conduct regular reviews for the Field CISO team, ensuring alignment with Optiv's strategic goals and client satisfaction.
  • Identify and cultivate talent, providing professional development opportunities and career pathing for team members.
  • Oversee the onboarding and training of new Field CISOs, ensuring they are equipped to effectively serve clients and represent Optiv.
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Field CISO organization, aligning with Optiv's overall business objectives and market trends.
  • Provide guidance and support to Field CISOs in their client engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-value security solutions and advisory services.
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to integrate Field CISO activities into the sales process, contributing to pipeline generation and deal closure.
  • Drive consistency and best practices across the Field CISO team, optimizing client engagement models and service delivery.
  • Oversee the development and refinement of Optiv methodologies and service offerings, leveraging market insights and client feedback.
  • Serve as an executive escalation point for complex client challenges and strategic discussions.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key clients, including CISOs, CIOs, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Represent Optiv at industry events and conferences, enhancing brand awareness and thought leadership.
  • Ensure the Field CISO team effectively communicates the value of Optiv's solutions and offerings to clients.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, compliance requirements, frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to Optiv's thought leadership initiatives, including white papers, webinars, and speaking engagements, demonstrating Optiv's expertise in the market.
  • Provide feedback to Services and Solution development teams on market trends and client needs, influencing the future direction of Optiv's offerings.
  • Understand the current and changing IT landscape and how innovative technologies can impact a company's business risks and security posture.

What we're hiring for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership role managing client-facing cybersecurity professionals or consulting teams.
  • Demonstrated success in building, scaling, and leading high-performing teams in a professional services or consulting environment.
  • Extensive experience working with enterprise clients, understanding their security challenges, and developing tailored solutions.
  • Deep understanding of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
  • Strong technical acumen across various security domains, including network security, cloud security, endpoint security, and incident response.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to drive positive change and contribute to sales pursuits, client relationships, and client retention.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate client needs into actionable security solutions.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
