Northrop Grumman, Propulsion Systems, is currently recruiting for a Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer/Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer . This position will be located at the Promontory Utah facility.

Successful candidate will work to perform mission assurance quality engineering functions associated with design, fabrication, and inspection of materials/components used in the production of aerospace materials and hardware both in-house and at supplier facilities. As a Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming supplier products meet the company's quality standards and support the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.

Successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Ability to develop, plan, and implement quality methods and strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items.
• Ability to apply problem solving/critical thinking skills to support and resolve issues with supplied items that impact the production line.
• Ability to interface effectively with suppliers, customers (including government e.g. NASA, Navy, DCMA), work associates/teams, and management.
• Must be able to work autonomously at suppliers as a representative of the company. Capabilities to study, understand, and apply stringent procedures to assigned duties.
• Develop inspection criteria and plans for procured items. Create and manage contractual quality flow down requirements for programs.
• Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
• Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
• Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
• Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list.
• Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process.
• Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
• Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.

Up to 20% travel may be required to support onsite supplier activities

Education/Certifications/Experience
• B.S. in Engineering with 2 years of experience or M.S. in Engineering
Position may be filled at higher level requiring BS with 5 years of experience or 3 years of experience with MS
• BS in an Engineering or Technical Science discipline is preferred, but may accept relevant job experience in lieu of degree
• Experience in quality and aerospace business is preferred

Salary Range: $68,500 - $102,700
Salary Range 2: $84,200 - $126,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
