This position will serve on site in Linthicum Heights or Annapolis Junction, MD.

What You'll Get to Do:

Design and development of systems components
Ensure the system is constructed and designed according to specifications and functions properly
Refining and adjusting requirements as necessary in response to any emerging issues
Follow through of design from detailed design through build up and integration and test.
Documentation of all design components and processes/procedures throughout systems development
Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements development and allocation, and ensuring design meets design compliance
Support staffing and scheduling to ensure products are delivered on time as required
Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and developing strategies for their insertion into both legacy and next-generation applications
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining a US Government security clearance per customers' requirements.
This position will serve on-site in one of these area locations: Linthicum Heights or Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Systems Design Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience
Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle
Demonstrated experience defining systems behavior
Experience leading Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally
High proficiency in technical problem solving; to include decomposition, root cause analysis, and solution development
Experience in generation and update of system and sub-system level specifications
Demonstrated experience with risk management and related tasks
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications for Staff Systems Design Engineer:

Experience across the entire lifecycle of the systems engineering development lifecycle.
Knowledge of Systems Engineering including participation in the development of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Past experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
Experience working with CAMEO or other similar MBSE management tools
Experience using requirements management tools
Various experience across different stages of the product lifecycle
12 years of direct relevant experience within systems development or similar capacity
Masters in Systems Engineering
Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
