Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to lead the payload-level AI&T (Assembly Integration and Test) of a Space RF Sensor Payload which includes an Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) antenna and processor.

This position is on-site in Linthicum, MD in a closed program area SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility).
Responsibilities include:

Lead and work together as a team to handle issues wherever they pop up across the various I&T activities, including planning, development, and execution

Provide technical leadership, direction, and support to a team of integration and test engineers

Provide planning, technical leadership, and coordination for the development of test procedures

Support development & execution of Test Router and T-Spec (Test Specification). The Test Router is a spreadsheet that contains a list all the testing that occurs while in the compact range (or lab) and provides the test plan and direction to the Test Directors and Bench Operators.

Support communication/collaboration with subject matter experts to evaluate system performance and verify requirements are met for sell-off

Communicate technical issues to program leadership

Help resolve technical issues with the test procedures, test equipment, and the UUT (Unit Under Test)

Payload Representative at various program meetings: TRRs (Test Readiness Reviews) and BOCs (Break-of-Configurations) for subassemblies, e.g., Panels, ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) Antenna, and Processors; and Payload Engineering Weekly (update Payload AI&T status slide); and Payload ERB (Engineering Review Board)

Help resolve test failures: determine troubleshooting plan; prioritize testing efforts; determine RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action); work with Program Managers to coordinate staffing and scheduling; and, determine closure paths to Jira tickets

Provide technical input for QNs (Quality Notifications) in SAP production systems

Generate technical portions of slides for various milestones for Payload test events and support I&T and program reviews as priorities fluctuate across I&T efforts

Daily Shift Change / CCB (Configuration Control Board) - comment on any new tickets

ART/FRBs (Anomaly Resolution Team/Failure Review Board) - leading and/or gathering data and generating slides.

SLCs (Signatures, Limitations and Constraints) meetings; submit/modify SLC entries based on Payload Testing

Basic Qualifications:

BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 14 years relevant experience or 12 years with MS

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Sensor System Integration and Test experience, e.g., with RADAR, SIGINT, or COMMS

Space Integration and Test (I&T) experience at subsystem, Payload, or Space Vehicle level

Technical & People Leadership including planning, scheduling, and execution, staffing, setting expectations, tasking, and measuring and reporting progress

Cost Account Management (CAM) responsibility, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS) schedule and financial reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering and/or Systems Engineering

ESA (Electronically Scanned Array)/Phased Array Antenna Integration, Test, and Calibration

* Active SCI clearance

Salary Range: $179,600.00 - $269,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
