Northrop Grumman's Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) is seeking a Principal Engineer Mission Architect (T03) or a Sr Principal Engineer Mission Architect (T04) to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting on-orbit-test, test scenario planning, and operations throughout all planning, execution, and debrief phases
- Providing Space Operations expertise to ensure spacecraft/payload and ground system health, status, anomaly troubleshooting, and anomaly-resolution
- Creating and/or providing initial and post-maneuver orbit determination
- The development and improvement of on-orbit system-test procedures
- Performing demonstrations and conducting briefings explaining test procedures and processes
- Providing on-consol operational support and aiding in the investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system signatures
- Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (T03) or minimum of 9 years' experience (T04) in a related engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace and/or operations
- Must have U.S. Citizenship with active or current Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
- Strong technical background in orbital mechanics/astrodynamics
- Knowledge and experience in satellite operations engineering disciplines to include attitude control, power management, thermal control, propulsion, command and data handling, flight and ground software, and anomaly determination and resolution
- Experience with developing and presenting briefing slides to senior leaders and executive level personnel
- Be able to make decisions under high-pressure environments and maintain composure in stressful situations
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems in a dynamic environment
- Experience in RPO mission design and satellite ground software
- Have an extensive knowledge of different astrodynamic coordinate frames such as ECI and RIC
- Experience with optimization techniques and their application for trajectory optimization and/or multi-objective optimization
- Prior aerospace-related work experience for a U.S Government Agency or Contractor
- Background/fundamental understanding of performing statistical analysis
Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
Salary Range 2: $121,000 - $181,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
