Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC provides a layered missile defense capability that delivers an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to boost performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a vital component of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
The selected candidate will operate, maintain, and manage Windows-based systems supporting a software development environment. They will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment as well as backup and recovery, including disaster recovery of system data.
Essential Functions:
Make sure all data is backed up regularly
Make sure the backup system is working correctly, and regularly test it by restoring files
Respond appropriately to any system security or virus incident discovered
Install, configure, monitor, manage, and maintain all Windows servers
Create and maintain documentation for Windows servers
Develop and uphold Windows system administration processes and procedures
Install, configure, manage, and maintain applications based on Windows servers
Make sure Windows systems have the necessary patches installed, including security updates, application patches, and OS updates
Ensure Windows-based systems are operating with the latest versions of antivirus software and up-to-date virus definition files
Create, manage, and maintain security groups and user accounts
Oversee, operate, and sustain storage systems and devices
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must possess a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
A DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) is required to start
The following technical skills are required:
Windows System Administration
Domain/Active Directory Administration
NAS Storage Administration
Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
Technical skills supporting a varied and diverse environment, including:
Server setup
Hardening
Deployment
Maintenance
Experience administering virtualization platforms, specifically including:
VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the following:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration
Backup and Recovery
Knowledge of Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence

Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
