Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program serves as the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively observe the battle's development, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges at all phases of flight. C2BMC acts as a force multiplier, globally and regionally networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to enhance performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a crucial component of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
This position is for a Principal Software Engineer on the Enterprise Services team for the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development using the Java language.
Essential Functions:

Responsible for conducting thorough analysis and providing technical support for systems software products, which includes resolving complex problems, designing, developing, testing, operational integration, and offering user support
Designs, codes, maintains, debugs, and configures enterprise software applications and products
Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
Collaborates with other system support groups to resolve issues, establishes standards, and enhances the overall efficiency of the operating system
Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation
Will work with Risk Management Framework, STIG, Fortify, and SonarQube mitigation
Will work with server-side/database development and computer system administration
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or a PhD and 1 years of related experience, or 9 years related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
Applicants must possess a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required to start
Software engineering and software development with Java/JEE experience
Experience and knowledge of basic software practices are essential, including coding standards and configuration management
Experience developing enterprise applications using Java
Knowledge and experience with Java foundation classes and toolkits
Experience developing software for Unix/Linux is required
Experience working as part of an Agile team; understanding of Agile methodology
Use of common software development and management tools such as:
Git
Nexus
JIRA
Confluence
Maven/Gradle
Eclipse

Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing software for Windows platforms is desired
Full Stack experience
Command and control system application development
Automated test and pipeline development experience
Test-driven development
* Experience with Software Integration testing, including developing automated test scripts

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
