Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing System Integration Lab (SIL) activities and serves as liaison between functional management, SIL leads and program management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project and issues related to SIL operations and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress, SIL metrics, and for intervention and problem solving with functional managers and SIL Engineering Leads.
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems - San Diego is seeking a Principal Project Manager to manage operational and financial aspects of the BACN SIL and serve as liaison between internal teams including program management, planning, project teams, field, logistics, and engineering.

Responsibilities include the following:

Oversee and manage activities of assigned Task Orders / projects.
Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders / customers.
Maintain and review the status of project activities to ensure cost, schedule, and technical commitments are being met.
Be responsible for compliance with all financial tracking processes such as formal and informal EVMS systems.

Coordinate customer meetings (conference room, visitor requests, agenda planning, action items, meeting minutes, etc).
Support proposal development by gathering and organizing data and preparing cost estimates and rationale.
Assess project/technical issues and develop corrective actions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
Lead status review sessions with internal management to discuss the status of project cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Develop and maintain schedules, risk registers, lessons learned, status reports and other project documentation to document project execution and performance.
Monitors status of procurement and production hardware for assigned projects.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Project Manager:

5 Years with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
Experienced and comfortable interpreting technical drawings and BOMs
Experience working with SIL Integration & Test teams to develop baseline schedules & risk mitigation strategies
Experience acting as a liaison between Production, Program Management and Engineering
Experience developing Deficiency Report (DR) corrective action implementation plans
Must be a self-starter, develop solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and innovation.
Possess superb written and verbal communication skills - Above average skills in MS Office Applications (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
Be comfortable and work well as part of an integrated team.
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:

Past BACN program experience
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
A proactive approach to risk management and continuous process improvement.
MS SharePoint Proficiency, MS Project Proficiency, and MS Excel Proficiency.
Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
