Northrop Grumman Field Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual for the position of a Principal Field Engineer or Sr. Principal Field Engineer, with a specialized focus on antennas, adept at interfacing with customers and suppliers, and possessing significant F-16 experience. This position is OCONUS.

What You'll Get To Do:

The Field Engineer responsibilities include researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify F-16 avionics systems with a primary emphasis on antennas and EW.
  • Execute diverse maintenance and technical support tasks on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software at customer and field locations.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of products and their performance, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Swiftly troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, implementing effective solutions in minimal time.
  • Execute installations, upgrades, and removals of products, ensuring seamless coordination with engineering field changes.
  • Foster effective communication and relations with customers, ensuring client satisfaction and resolving concerns promptly.
  • Provide onsite training for customer support personnel, contributing to enhanced operational capabilities.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Field Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM Field and a minimum of 5 years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Extensive experience in F-16 avionics systems, showcasing proficiency in antenna-related operations.
  • Must have a current active Secret clearance. Must be able to maintain Secret level clearance for continued employment.
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with customers and suppliers, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience as an Avionics Field Engineer with hands-on experience is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to support operations in CENTCOM AOR, with an understanding of the region's unique requirements.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Field Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM Field and a minimum of 9 years related experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Extensive experience in F-16 avionics systems, showcasing proficiency in antenna-related operations.
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with customers and suppliers, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience as an Avionics Field Engineer with hands-on experience is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to support operations in CENTCOM AOR, with an understanding of the region's unique requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with installing and repairing aircraft wiring and harnesses
  • Experience using test equipment to determine RF Cable losses
  • Experience performing on-going maintenance, diagnostics, installation, and repair of components on-aircraft at the Organizational-Level of maintenance utilizing T.O.s, engineering drawings, and proprietary equipment and documentation
  • Possession of a robust personality, coupled with mental agility to navigate complex technical challenges.
  • Experience performing duties associated with Intermediate and Depot-Level support, including test, repair, upgrade, and retrofit of numerous antennas and LRUs - again using propriety equipment and documentation
Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100
Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
