Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Manager Supplier Quality 1 to provide a supervisory and leadership role for to our Supplier Quality Assurance team in Tactical Space Systems Division in Dulles, Virginia.

Duties:

Successful candidate will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and training a team of Quality Control Technicians and capable of performing a wide range of quality assessments tasks supporting the team. Will be responsible for the work performed by the team in assuring quality of incoming supplier products and to ensure products meet the company's quality standards and support the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain. Job responsibilities will include:
  • Direct accountability for activities and actions of team members under their responsibility, including:
    • Training
    • Hiring and staffing decision
    • Conducting performance reviews
    • Mentoring and helping team members with development plans
  • Managing daily work assignments and task execution for completion of supplier evaluation and performance monitoring and ensuring requirements related to product realization are flowed down to suppliers
  • Leading by example with day-to-day support activities and assure work team complies with all applicable safety and quality requirements and company policies/procedures
  • Creation of area and job specific training documents and standard work or task instruction sheets
  • Supporting and advancing a strong safety and improvement culture
  • Interfacing with numerous programs, engineering, manufacturing and quality teams and customers
  • Must be able to support off-shift, weekends, holidays and overtime work as needed
  • Will require travel to support supplier engagement in various supplier's facilities
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • US Citizenship required
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Must have technical and in-depth knowledge of area supervising, Supplier Quality and knowledgeable in quality assurance processes
  • Written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and organize work in order to accomplish assigned tasks while working multiple programs/projects
  • Analytical and problem solving skills for root cause and corrective action analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team project and organize data inputs from multiple sources
  • Supplier quality experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Quality Auditor
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements
  • Proficient in use of measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers to perform dimensional inspection
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and specifications utilizing GD&T standards
  • Organized documentation and reporting skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry aerospace standards
  • Highly preferred to have advanced computer skills and knowledge working in Costpoint ERP/MRP and material accept tags
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge
  • CMM operator/programmer
  • Current active security clearance
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Active DOD Top Secret Clearance
  • Previous management experience
Salary Range: $115,000 - $162,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
