Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector is seeking a Manager, Program 2 (non-P&L) to join the Product Line Alignment (PLA) team within the Capability, Maturation, Alignment and Deployment (CMAD) Business Unit under Emerging Capabilities Development (ECD) Division. Product Line Engineering (PLE) is a way to engineer a family of related products in an efficient manner, taking full advantage of the products' similarities while respecting and managing their differences.

The selected candidate will support the Product Line Strategy team within the Product Line Alignment Operating Unit. This position will require interactions with cross-functional organizations while balancing stakeholders' needs and technical objectives in support of Product Line Strategy. This role includes Product Ownership responsibility, including leadership and development with the below mentioned toolsets. The candidate will support teams that are already taking on product line thinking and help them implement successful product lines by selecting, deploying, and using the right tools for PLA.
This position can be done full-time onsite in Linthicum, MD, hybrid from Linthicum, MD, or remotely from any US state with travel required.
What You'll Get to Do:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop Product Line tool alignment and deployment roadmap.
Continuous evaluation of PLE adoption strategy for teams from a tools and technology perspective.
Provide expertise on PLE tool deployment and usage in a digital engineering environment for a variety of Systems, Mechanical and Electrical tools.
Lead the development of appropriate training materials, provide metrics supporting software changes and conduct demonstrations and training events for PLE focused tools.
Conduct requirements elicitation, definition, systems analysis and design.
Define requirements for integration of PLE tools with other enterprise tools used for trade space analysis, system modeling, hardware and software design, testing, product lifecycle management (PLM Teamcenter and Windchill), business and capture tools (i.e., Salesforce and TechBus) quality management, configuration management, etc.
Maintaining relationship and ongoing sync sessions with external PLM vendors to stay on top of latest capabilities provided by COTS industry.
Support the implementation of new tool capabilities and integrations by interfacing with internal team members, internal IT, CIDO and Digital Solutions teams, as well as external third-party companies.
Develop new CONOPS and processes for how various PLE related tools can be used in an integrated fashion to optimize our engineering and manufacturing workflow.
Ensure product line engineering strategy is aligned with major tenets of Digital Solutions, including MBx, DevOps, and Lean-Agile.
Have excellent understanding of configuring, automating, and deploying software packages and related server application deployment.
Lead the execution of system design for application and data Integration design & architecture.
Ability to negotiate capability needs with IT management personnel.
Development of Product Line logic within Palantir Foundry.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline with 8 years of relevant program, project, or systems engineering experience or a Master's Degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline with 6 years of relevant program, project, or systems engineering experience or a PhD in a STEM or Business focused discipline with 3 years of relevant program, project, or systems engineering experience.
Prior experience in IT Systems/IT Project Management, System Engineering, and/or related IT experience.
Experience working on an Agile team and familiarity with Agile process, either as scrum master or product owner.
Webpage and/or Dashboard design/development experience.
Experience in integrating engineering tools.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing stakeholder communications.
Experience leading the performance of tasks and achieving all requirements as either project lead or integrated program team lead.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to work cross-team, synthesize feedback and input from stakeholders, and design creative solutions.
Ability to travel domestically (10%).
U.S. Citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance after starting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Product line engineering experience internal or external to NGC.
Active in the PLE Community of Practice (CoP) or presented PLE content at relevant industry conferences or NG Symposiums.
Prior experience and strong demonstrated knowledge with Palantir Foundry Software for development and design.
Experience with Manufacturing process and tool development.
Systems and Software Engineering skills:
Requirements management methods and tools, such as DOORS.
Systems and software architecture development and Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools, such as IBM Rhapsody, Cameo, Jira, etc.
Software development tools, methods, and best practices.
Configuration and temporal management methods and tools, such as IBM ClearCase, Git, etc.
Prior experience with PLE methods and tools, such as BigLever Gears, Siemens Teamcenter Product Configurator, etc.
Prior experience with business management tools, such as Salesforce, Cognos, and TechBus.
Experience integrating engineering tools with business tools.
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Coach for Agile, MBx, or other initiatives related to Digital Transformation.
Participate in NG Coaching Guidance training that includes engineering practices and facilitation skills.

Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $224,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
