Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, located in Promontory, UT, is seeking a Manager Facilities Engineering 2 * to lead the Facilities Electrical Engineering Team.

This position will have responsibility in leading 10 to 15 facilities engineers, and is ultimately responsible for meeting the technical solutions for all responsible areas and programs. The qualified candidate must be able to lead an engineering group to effectively meet plant requirements for safety and quality as well as the program requirements for cost and schedule. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are strongly needed.
Responsibilities:
Drive technical excellence by ensuring department meets internal and external requirements for power, controls, and process instrumentation designs, programming and implementation of said designs.
Presents intelligent building modification options to management for consideration with recommendations for alternatives
Manage or provide detailed cost estimates for project design/implementation for technical proposals to support Direct programs, capital projects, overhead work and IWO's.
Planning and execution of building alterations including major capital projects, delivering on-time & under budget
Coordinates with engineering firms, contractors and internal groups to execute projects
Set role and performance expectations for staff, provide ongoing feedback and performance appraisals.
Development of multidisciplined engineering staff
Champion company values, especially safety.
Manpower planning and forecasting.
Manage resources to support program schedules, balancing needs, priorities and cost.
Qualifications:
BS Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years engineering experience in electrical/automation/power design, process, quality, etc.
5+ years' experience in Facility design, engineering calculations, estimating, construction manpower planning, construction / project oversight, project testing and buyoff.
5+ years of project management experience including responsibility for technical design, installation, budget and schedule for large capital projects.
Experience and knowledge of facilities infrastructure, equipment, redundancies, electrical and mechanical systems, and basic code requirements.
Experience managing cross functional teams.
Excellent problem solving skills are a must, and proven leadership of cross functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (Facility and processing equipment).
Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes.
In depth knowledge and experience with both high hazard and inert processes is required.
Knowledge of configuration management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Engineering Management role preferred but not required.
Programing experience of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to control a variety of processes, machine tools, and robotics. Allen Bradley PLC and Rockwell Software programming experience preferred.
Knowledge of Low and Medium voltage Power Distribution such as Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency drives, Panel Boards, Fused Disconnects, Switch boards, etc.
Experience with propellant/explosives.
Understanding of process control through SPC, SQC or other process monitoring techniques.
Communication and technical presentation skills
Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, and mentoring/coaching others in rapid problem solving and improvement
Working knowledge of PFMEA and other advanced quality improvement tools.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams.

Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
