WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are in search for a consumer-centric strategist to challenge conventional thinking and comfortably navigate ambiguity to bring focus. The successful candidate will have a track record of leading complex, multi-functional projects across a range of (enterprise-wide) strategic topics (growth strategy, brand strategy, and strategy activation through strategic planning, resource allocation, strategic initiatives, etc.). They will also have experience successfully leading a high-performing team doing complex work through a matrixed organization.
We are looking for a senior strategy leader with 10+ years' experience of top-tier strategy consulting, and/or industry strategy experience. MBA strongly preferred. This person must have direct people-management experience (minimum 3-5 years), and be comfortable operating at C-suite/Board level, with excellent influencing skills and ability to navigate a global matrix organization.
This role will be responsible for driving the Enterprise and Brand strategy for EMEA. This role will be a key member of the EMEA Strategy Leadership Team and the EMEA Marketing Leadership Team. It will have direct reports who drive the strategy for the EMEA geo and the Brand in EMEA.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you'll be working with the EMEA Strategy Team and EMEA GM & Marketing VP to define the future EMEA Strategy and Brand Strategy for Nike. You will be partnering with the Consumer, Marketplace and Brand leaders and critical business functions (Finance, Planning, Merchandising, etc.) to define strategic choices regarding future growth, strategic priorities, brand distinction and key enablers, and then partnering to execute the strategy.
You will be a critical thought-partner for the business, whilst taking individual ownership of leading complex, cross-functional strategic project work, as well as the annual strategic planning process. In addition, you will have team leadership responsibility and will be expected to contribute to talent and functional development of the broader EMEA & Global Strategy teams.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The successful candidate will report into the Head of EMEA Strategy. Critical stakeholder groups include: Global Strategy, EMEA Strategy, Nike Consumer Categories and Fields of Play, Nike Direct, Nike Marketplace Partners, Finance, Marketing, Merchandising and DSM.
WHAT YOU BRING
Must Haves:
- Proven experience (+ MBA) of top-tier strategy consulting, and/or equivalent industry/ high-growth strategy experience.
- Solid experience with direct people-management responsibility (goal setting, coaching & feedback, performance evaluation, career planning).
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to independently structure ambiguous problems and solve these with rigor through an analytical approach that includes both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Strong influencing skills; ability to work with senior stakeholder groups to drive alignment.
- Communication and relationship management skills, experience presenting to senior management.
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence, managing upward communication to executive leadership teams and top management.
- Experience of operating at C-suite/Board level to develop large-scale strategic programmes.
- Track-record of complex multi-functional strategic project management across a range of Strategic topics.
- A consumer-centric, strategic visionary, who is comfortable navigating ambiguity to bring focus, whilst energizing a team of strategists to write the future of the EMEA enterprise and brand.
- Strong team-player; collaborative, challenging and caring.
