WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

As the Director of Digital Design, Footwear, you will lead a team of computational designers to implement the future vision of digital design technology. You will report to the Senior Director of the Design Studio within the Advanced Digital Creation Studio. In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership to ensure consistency and alignment with Nike's overall design strategy and goals.

Your responsibilities will include mentoring each designer on your team, aiding in the development of their skills and career advancement within Nike, Inc. Through constructive feedback and guidance, you will contribute to the professional growth of each team member.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Art, Architecture, Industrial Design, Computer Science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

• Master's degree in Art, Architecture, Industrial Design, Computer Science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

• Minimum of 8+ years of relevant design work experience in a related field.
• A strong design portfolio that demonstrate an expertise in advanced digital design.
• Prefer 5+ years in apparel and/or footwear product design
• Profound knowledge of digital design technology and how it shapes the future of product creation.
• Understanding of new additive making technologies and manufacturing processes preferred.
• Mastery of the creative process, guiding the team through all stages of design.
• Excellent storytelling skills.
• Mastery of presentation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to inspire and lead creative teams under high-pressure environments.
• Collaborative spirit with excellent soft skills and flexibility to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams efficiently.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

As the Director of Digital Design, Footwear, you will play a crucial role in integrating advanced digital workflows into products and capabilities across innovation and inline, necessitating collaboration with business, development, and design partners. You will establish the vision for digital design acceleration, ensure your team remains at the cutting edge of digital design innovation, and promote effective teamwork throughout the organization. In addition, you will monitor advancements in digital design and methods of production, keeping the team informed about industry trends and providing insights on their impact on Nike.

• In collaboration with the Directors of Digital Apparel Design and Phygital Design, you will ensure that the efforts of the Footwear Digital Team are aligned with the strategy and priorities of the Advanced Digital Creation Studio. This partnership is essential for advancing digital design throughout the organization.
• You will work closely with the Footwear Design and Engineering teams to align priorities and develop new concepts.
• You will oversee many creative initiatives and supervise your team to ensure the delivery of exceptional work.
• You will support the team's creative culture by organizing team shares, lunch and learns, and skill development activities.
• You will assist in managing the workload distribution of your team and help set priorities and expectations with design partners.
• You will maintain close connections with our innovation partners in Asia to advance their digital capabilities and share our methods.
