We're inviting an experienced and strategic Insurance Product Manager to join our Liability team to lead development of new offerings in the E&S market. This is a highly visible and cross-functional position focused on launching and scaling E&S products—starting with Construction General Liability. You will shape appetite, pricing, and underwriting rules for a segment of risks that our admitted products cannot fully serve, and play a key role in helping NEXT expand its platform to serve more complex small businesses. What You’ll Do:
- Act as a leading authority on our E&S offerings, initially focused on Construction GL, managing coverage, pricing, underwriting logic, and regulatory compliance.
- Define appetite and segmentation strategy for non-admitted business, with strong alignment to loss drivers and data-informed underwriting decisions
- Partner with actuarial, engineering, and data science on automated E&S pricing and risk selection.
- Ensure surplus lines compliance and build scalable operations for future non-admitted products.
- Conduct industry research, competitive benchmarking, and broker/customer interviews to identify high-impact use cases and coverage gaps
- Optimize for profit/growth by fine-tuning rating, tailoring forms, and expanding customer segments
- Communicate product performance, trends, and strategy to leadership and cross-functional partners
What We Need:
- 8+ years of Commercial Insurance experience in E&S product management, underwriting, actuarial, or risk management; Construction GL experience is a major plus.
- Deep familiarity with the E&S market and its operational, regulatory, and underwriting nuances
- Experience optimizing and pricing E&S products using data, modeling, and loss ratio analysis.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, creative in building solutions, and rigorous in execution.
- Clear, structured communication skills for both technical and non-technical leadership audiences.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple workstreams across multiple functions.
- BA/BS degree; advanced degree (MBA, MS) or insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARe) are a plus.
