Offered Wage: $169,229/year

Duties: Develops the company's portal platform to support multiple e-app websites for Group Memberships. Leverages Java Spring Boot framework, Hibernate, Oracle database, HTML5, Bootstrap CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and backbone frameworks to implement and automate end-to-end processed related to the company's insurance applications. Acts as a technical liaison between GMAD and the Insurance Group Technology department to support the company's Quick Decision (QD) automated underwriting tool. Writes code for Quick Decision to enhance the member experience and expedite processing with automated data calls. Oversees the development and successful rollout of several portal sites and performs platform enhancements. Meets with the business teams to gather requirements and feedback to achieve the most user-friendly e-app customer experience. Evaluates and implement new QD functionality and portal components and supports Account Management requests. Work with multiple users to enhance the requirements tool.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, implementing, and automating end-to-end processes in support of e-apps within the insurance industry.

Or, alternatively:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, implementing, and automating end-to-end processes in support of e-apps within the insurance industry.

Required Certifications & Skills:

Experience must include 2 years in each of the following skills:

(1) Analyzing complex business requirements and evaluating their impact on existing software architecture leveraging Jira and SharePoint to ensure a well-structured and responsive software development process;
(2) Developing robust web applications to enable the creation of multiple e-app websites with agility and precision leveraging Java Spring Boot framework;

(3) Developing web-based user interfaces to create an intuitive and efficient client portal prioritizing user-friendliness and seamless functionality leveraging HTML5, JavaScript ES6, Backbone JS, Lodash, Bootstrap CSS, and JQuery;

(4) Performing unit testing leveraging JUnit and Mockito for Java applications to assess performance and align individual code units with system requirements and ensure optimal functionality and robust software development; and,

(5) Architecting and constructing JSON-based RESTful application programming interfaces (APIs) to create powerful, well-documented, secure, and efficient RESTful APIs for seamless communication between web applications leveraging JSON for data serialization and RESTful principles to design web services, including Spring Boot framework, Swagger, and HTTP.
