Overview

To oversee strategic application engineering functions and initiatives, focusing on network systems. The Senior Manager provides leadership and direction through managers and is accountable for the performance and results of related teams and/or functions. Supports executive leadership in defining organizational goals and strategic plans and translates strategic vision into policies and operational plans for a broad functional area.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, implement, and troubleshoot the organization's computer networks.
  • Configure and maintain network hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Ensure network security and integrity through proactive monitoring and comprehensive security measures.
  • Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement timely solutions.
  • Leads a function that includes multiple related operational activities led by subordinate managers.
  • Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
  • Oversees operational activities for a broad functional area and contributes to strategic planning.
  • Applies industry expertise and awareness to drive financial and operational performance within a division.
  • Develops business plans that impact departmental priorities.
  • Achieves work objectives by empowering and coordinating the efforts of others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience, with 6+ years in management experience; or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in area of expertise
  • Expert-level knowledge in network engineering function and ability to effectively communicate across multiple functional areas.
  • Demonstrated success in transforming teams to adopt modern practices, tools, and mindsets.
  • Experience using SMART goals and OKRs to drive accountability and performance clarity across engineering and operations teams.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing team structures, defining roles and responsibilities, and fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards as well as the changing business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to carrying out initiatives in environment that may be resistant to change.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence others internally and externally; including senior executives, vendors and regulators.
  • Knowledge of network technologies and how they can be packaged as scalable, reusable services.
  • Experience using Agile methodologies to manage iterative network design and deployment cycles.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary IT teams across network design, implementation, and operations in domestic and international branch office, campus, and collocated data center environments.
  • Strong background in project lifecycle management, from requirements gathering and design through implementation and operational handoff.
  • Experience in developing and executing network strategies aligned with enterprise goals, including modernization, scalability, and cloud integration.
  • Experience leading cross-functional coordination with internal audit, compliance, and risk teams to ensure timely and accurate documentation and remediation.
  • Experience managing high-pressure communications during network outages, security incidents, or major change events, ensuring timely updates and stakeholder confidence.
