Job Summary:

Assists litigation counsel and other legal professionals with activities to support the Litigation, Human Resources, and Government Investigations Group in the MUFG Americas Legal Department.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Creation of litigation and investigation reports for provision to various internal groups, senior management, outside auditors, and banking regulators
  • Close work with internal and external e-discovery professionals and outside counsel on production of documents and data in response to civil litigation document requests, third-party or government subpoenas, and government inquiries
  • Legal and docket research relating to topics covered in litigation cases and government investigations involving the bank
  • Maintenance of databases that track legal holds and status of litigation cases and government investigations
  • Preparation of correspondence and planning of meetings as directed by litigation counsel and other legal professionals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and Adobe Pro
  • Ability to quickly learn to use database applications such as the bank's legal hold and matter management databases
  • Self-starter/independent worker - must be able to work independently and be proactive about all job duties
  • Attention to detail - must be able to handle detailed instructions and be able to perform thorough proofreading
  • Confidentiality - must be able to recognize confidential information and treat it appropriately under the bank's confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Professional demeanor - competence at comfortably liaising with a wide variety of internal colleagues and outside counsel and vendors
  • Analytical thinker - ability to analyze a legal situation in relation to potential risks to the bank and its related entities

The typical base pay range for this role is between $41 per hour - $50 per hour depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
