Your team responsibilities
The MSCI Equity Investing Research Team is a global research group with a mandate to create research content, data and services related to the full investment lifecycle of today's equity investor. We begin our research by first developing a clear understanding of our clients' needs and the challenges they face. We work closely with Index Research to enhance investment signals for constructing macro, thematic and factor indexes. We also partner with Analytics Research to develop equity factor models and innovative ways to analyze the risk and performance of equity portfolios. In all these efforts, we seek to leverage in-house expertise in AI and ML to deliver novel and insightful solutions for our clients.

Your key responsibilities
We are looking for an exceptional candidate with high energy and motivation to join our team. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Equity Investing Research team and conduct innovative research on investment signals, strategies, portfolio construction and analytics. The candidate will utilize Python and MATLAB to analyze financial, accounting, market, textual and alternative data. The candidate will regularly present and communicate research findings to other members of the team, key executives, the broader research organization, and across the organization to sales and product teams. You will also be encouraged to publish your research through MSCI blogs, white papers, and even academic journals.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
• M.S. or advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or other highly quantitative subject
• Exceptional quantitative aptitude and critical thinking skills
• Excellent computer programming skills - Python, MATLAB and SQL
• Experience extracting insights from large amounts of data
• Self-motivated, pro-active, and demonstrating an exceptional drive towards delivery
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Prior professional experience in quantitative research or data science is a plus
• Experience with AI / ML / NLP algorithms is a plus
• Interest in financial markets is a plus
