Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Vice President London JR011119The role will reside within the Firm Risk Management's Model Risk Management Department which is a team dedicated to providing the independent model risk control, review and validation of models used by Morgan Stanley. These include derivative pricing models in all product areas (i.e. interest rates, currencies, commodities, equities, credit, and securitized products), as well as models used for counterparty credit risk (CVA/IMM), credit risk (IRB), market risk (IMA), operational risk, capital and liquidity stress tests.Model Risk Management professionals in New York, London, Budapest, Frankfurt, Mumbai and Tokyo work closely with business quantitative strategists, risk analytics, risk managers and financial controllers. The London team works collaboratively with members of Model Risk Management across all model areas globally.Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.About Morgan Stanley Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. Make sure the timely delivery of solid review work according to regulatory requirements and model risk management policy and procedure • Identify, measure, communicate and decide on significant model risk issues in the coverage area. This includes model usage in the Firm's books & records, risk management, downstream capital model input, PnL attribution and stress loss calculations • Lead Model reviewers to work on emerging concerns from model validation work in flight and escalate to senior management • Review and identify the model usage gaps on new products, new business initiatives and new material exposures • Drive changes together with risk managers through rational and collaborative decision making to enhance model risk • Provide accurate information according to regulatory requirements on both existing model inventory and the incremental changes on model inventoryWhat we're looking for: • Masters or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field • The ideal candidate should have strong previous experience (for at least 8-10 years) on derivative pricing models gained in a development or validation role at an investment banking institution, preferably in rates FX, Hybrid or Inflation • Experience in taking ideas forward and challenging others, where appropriate, with experience in management by influence, facilitating and gaining consensus • Strong stakeholder management skills and team management experienceSkills that will help you in the role: • The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally • An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverablesWhere will you be working?
