The Asia Equities Documentation Group (AEDG) rolls up to the Risk Department of Morgan Stanley and is responsible for drafting, negotiating and administrating legal documentation for prime brokerages, OTC equity derivatives, securities lending, listed derivatives and electronic trading for clients in the APAC region including Japan.We are currently seeking an experienced documentation negotiator in Hong Kong to be a manager of the prime brokerage documentation team of AEDG.Key Responsibilities: * Manage a team of three negotiators who oversee the onboarding and negotiation of legal documentation relating to prime brokerage and OTC equity derivatives * Prepare and negotiate independently legal documentation relating to prime brokerage and OTC equity derivatives. * Act as primary point of contact with clients /their counsel and our internal stakeholders for all negotiations in the legal documentation * Work closely with internal stakeholders via escalation of deviated terms identified during negotiation of documentation; collaboration with client onboarding support team * Interact with clients in connection with new industry rules and regulations * Review and analyze legal constitutional documentation/ legal opinions to verify capacity and authority * Participate in global or local initiatives and documentation remediation addressing on regulatory updates and requirements imposed by regulators * Assist in the development and project management of policies, procedures and system enhancement relating to the covered areasQualifications * 5+ years' managerial experience of a team is a must * Holder of law degree in a common law jurisdiction. Holder of legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction is a plus * 5+ years' experience in negotiating prime brokerage suite of documentation and OTC equity derivatives in corporate law firm or financial institution * Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in prime brokerage and OTC derivatives space * Ability to identify; resolve issues and handle escalation from the team independently * Ability to multi-task and operate in a dynamic environment * Exceptional organizational and conflict resolution skills * Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
