Java Software Engineer - VP

Provide technical leadership and vision for software development projects. Define technical architecture and roadmap for large-scale, mission-critical systems. Establish and communicate departmental goals and objectives aligned with business priorities. Lead a team of software engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and budget for software development initiatives. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success. Oversee the execution of software development projects, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Drive the recruitment and retention of top technical talent for the team. Collaborate with senior leadership to shape technology strategy and roadmap. Represent the software engineering team in cross-functional discussions and planning sessions. Lead multiple software engineering teams, overseeing project portfolios and deliverables. Define and implement strategies for optimizing software development processes and workflows. Manage senior technical leads and architects to drive innovation and technical excellence. Partner with business leaders to align technology initiatives with organizational goals. Provide strategic direction for software engineering function, setting long-term objectives. Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and methodologies to improve efficiency. Represent the software engineering function in executive meetings and planning sessions. Drive Innovation and excellence in software design and architecture, promoting best practices and ensuring high quality software development. Act as a Technical thought leader, staying current on industry trends and advancements to drive continuous improvement. Extensive experience in Java. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and leading software development teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps, with the ability to implement best practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executives. Proven track record in strategic planning, resource allocation, and project management to drive successful software development initiatives. Ability to analyse and assess technical requirements, risks, & constraints to inform decisions and prioritize tasks accordingly. Proficient in software development tools & technologies, strong technical background to guide and support team members. Strong problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges and drive innovation within the software engineering team.
