We're seeking someone to join our team as a GCM Syndicate Operations - Director (AVP) to provide first line support for new products and markets across Morgan Stanley's Global Sales and Trading business while being responsible for correctly settling and recording of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating operational risk, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and Automation. In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. Act as a point of contact and liaison for the Global Capital Markets Division. Point of escalation for internal stakeholders, other control functions and external parties. Partner with Sales & Trading on ad hoc queries and New Product Approvals impacting local entity Logistical operational oversight for all Capital Market transactions including IPOs, Secondary Block Offerings, Follow Ons, Rights offerings, Investment Grade Debt Issuance, High Yield Issuance, Asset backed Security Issuance and CLO issuance Successful closing of Equity and Debt Capital market transactions Dealing with Material Non Public Information (MNPI) Risk Management of Operations functional oversight. Including but not limited to Client Money, Credit Risk, Counterparty Risk, Market risk A Director of GCM Syndicate Operations Team works closely with the Business Units and Infrastructure management in realising Firm objectives. The role requires a high level of risk management awareness and guardianship. The candidate needs to demonstrate they can take ownership of initiatives and make decisions based on sound judgment in complex situations, which serve the best long term interests of the organisation. What you'll bring in the role: Prior experience of Middle Office, Trade Support, and GCM Operations functions required Knowledge of settlement process and systems General understanding of German Securities Banking law (KWG) Strong data analysis skills and excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships across the Firm Language skills - fluent in written & spoken English required, German is highly advantageous Able to communicate effectively with external clients and all levels of the organisation Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines and to prioritize effectively. Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Demonstration of good organisation skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives is a core requirement of the role. The candidate should have a clear understanding of how to distinguish priorities in a high pressure environment.
