Morgan Stanley is looking to hire a Corporate Communications professional (Associate Level) based in Frankfurt, primarily helping to cover Germany, Austria and France. Corporate Communications has responsibility for building and maintaining the Firm's reputation. A philosophy that balances personal lifestyles, perspectives and needs is an important part of our culture.What will you be doing?Working closely with Country management and other EMEA Corporate Communications professionals, the successful candidate will support a strategic Germany Corporate Communications programme. This will include: * Support of the media relations strategy for raising Firm and Business Unit profiles in Germany; * Helping to manage public perceptions of business-critical issues in Germany; * Helping to refine media positioning and core messages for the Firm in Germany; * Helping to create content, including articles, press releases and other collateral materials, as appropriate; * Developing strong relationships with key financial and business journalists; * Serving as a primary media contact for German media; * Implementing and enforcing Firm media policy and procedures; * Working with the internal communications team in London to enhance and expand internal communications programmes in Germany; * In conjunction with Marketing in London, provide local brand, sponsorship and advertising support, as well as marketing guidance and support to the institutional business; and * Work with Community Affairs in London to support community outreach and philanthropic programmes, including volunteering. What we're looking for: * Previous media relations experience: the ideal candidate may have around 3+ years experience, ideally in a similar role * Solid understanding of and interest in the financial services industry, preferably with experience in banking, professional services or law firms * Experience of working with bankers to shape and drive corporate and business unit agendas with the media * Experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships with journalists in print, broadcast and online across Europe * Experience of working closely with, and helping to develop the skills of, spokespeople and prepare them for media activities * Able to meet tight deadlines and has some experience around issues managementSkills that will help you in the role: * Experience in financial marketing, including brand strategy, advertising, sponsorships and event planning * Experience in philanthropy and community outreach, including a proven ability to build long term relationships with charitable organisations * Fluent in both English and German, further languages - particularly French - would be welcome * Strong writing skills in both English and German * Degree educated or equivalentWhere will you be working?A Corporate Communications Associate based in Frankfurt to help cover a range of corporate communications activities, including media relations, internal communications, marketing and philanthropy, for Morgan Stanley in Germany, Austria and France.The position will report to the Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing of Morgan Stanley Europe SE (MSESE), and will work closely with the senior management team in Germany to support the strategic corporate communications programme for the region.
