Senior Manager, Brand Management

The Senior Manager, Brand Management is a member of the Global Brand Management team. The Global Brand Management team is primarily responsible for leading the transformation of the MLB brand, establishing the foundational elements and bringing the brand to life through creative marketing campaigns aimed at reaching growth audiences.

Responsibilities 

  • In collaboration with other members of Brand Management, drives the long-term brand equity platform as well as annual campaigns designed to highlight the positioning of baseball and emphasize MLB’s place as a leading provider of sport and entertainment globally. 
  • Contribute to the development of the annual marketing plan, ensuring marketing campaigns and platforms are integrated across all facets of marketing and outlined early enough to enhance partnership with other League functions (e.g. Biz Dev, Media/Gaming, Sponsorship, Youth, Product, etc), the 30 clubs, and MiLB.
  • Provide guidance to a team of creative professionals (internal and external), including designers, copywriters, and producers to build high-quality, impactful content that resonates with diverse fan bases and drives engagement.
  • Helps lead multicultural marketing initiatives, with a focus on developing culturally relevant campaigns for Hispanic/Latino audiences in the U.S.
  • Own project timelines, budgets, and campaign deliverables to ensure high-quality and on-time execution.
  • Work with the analytics and insights teams to leverage data in the creative process, ensuring that all creative strategies are informed by a deep understanding of audience behavior and trends.
  • Partner with the Global Events team to integrate the MLB brand narrative through our jewel events and experiences.
  • Reinforce brand guidelines cross-functionally across the MLB enterprise and its external partners to elevate and protect the MLB brand in concert with the brand design team.
  • In conjunction with the sponsorship team, build opportunities for existing and new partners to MLB
  • Demonstrates understanding of business priorities
  • Develops specific goals and project plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work in support of business priorities
  • Collaborates with team members, internal/external partners, and stakeholders to execute against project objectives
  • Provides ongoing status updates to share progress against established goals, gaps, and support needs to maintain progress against project plans
  • Actively solicits stakeholder feedback and responds to concerns in a timely manner
  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner that is easy to understand
  • Engage with senior level MLB leaders to continually align marketing plans and emphasize the importance of the MLB brand strategy as a filter for decision making and communication across all parts of the enterprise.

Qualifications & Skills 

  • 4 year degree from an accredited university in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or related field and 7+ years experience in marketing or related functional area; OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Brand or Agency experience
  • Curiosity in advertising and beyond in how to communicate effectively to different audiences
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using data and analytics to inform marketing decisions
  • Proven experience developing and executing multicultural marketing campaigns, with a strong understanding of how to authentically engage diverse audiences
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. Hispanic/Latino consumer behavior, media consumption, and cultural trends preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • An understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of baseball preferred

Salary Range: 95,000 - 125,000

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
