Position Summary

The Brand Luxury Events Senior Manager supports the Global Enablement team in executing world-class events across the spectrum of fine wine and craft spirits. This role oversees the luxury event program, managing cross-functional projects process, development, fulfillment, and execution of materials in support of the Constellation Brands Wine & Spirits Division brand portfolio. They are responsible for managing their team (2) and working in conjunction with the Brand Teams in the managing and evaluation of experiential luxury plans and budgets. Other keys aspects include working across a spectrum of internal clients including Brand, Sponsorships, Sales and Finance; third party vendor and production suppliers; and our national base of independent distributors. In addition, this role provides subject matter expertise and day-to-day oversight of various Marketing and Sales support system applications used in the ordering process and other brand asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the planning and execution National Event/Experience Programming at the national and DMA level; plans and budgets must effectively support the Brands, Channel and DMA priorities established for the assigned territory.
  • Leads the implementation, execution and ongoing management of events for all Constellation Wine & Spirits brands. Working in conjunction with travel, brand teams, and the Brand Enablement teams/Sales.
  • Manages and directs the work of multiple vendors in the process refinement, development, production and delivery of marketing materials and tactics, requiring advanced knowledge of POS resources and specifications.
  • Engages with agencies and manufacturers to design materials for brand enhancing and consumer awareness programs. This includes direct responsibility of adherence to brand standards.
  • Manages and drives of communication, production, assuring that materials are delivered on time, on-budget and at quality execution. Identifies and communicates potential risks to on time delivery of components. Identifies and assists in the implementation of cost-savings and improvement opportunities to meet annual targets. Facilitates resolution regarding quality issues, including non-conformance validation and credit issuance.
  • Authorizes final product specifications, gathers and analyzes cost proposals, and selects vendor after thorough negotiations based on most optimal mix of quality, total cost, service, and logistical considerations. Ensure all programming is vetted, legal approval obtained and compliance is maintained for all local marketing programs.
  • Possess a clear understanding of local, state and federal beverage laws in assigned states. Utilizes knowledge in the development and implementation of local/social media, retail promotion overlays, special events and sponsorships
  • Submit regular programming execution evaluations and updates (such as retail activation summaries, ROI analysis reports and competitive activity summaries) as requested by Sr. Director Global Engagement and VP Global Strategy
  • Maintains strong relationships with various internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Brand, Sponsorship, Finance, Legal, Revenue Management) as well as key external partners, agencies and vendors
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as determined by management
  • This role would necessitate travel, willingness to be on the road up to 30% of the year.
  • Locality preference in the Napa Valley or SF Bay area, however open to qualified candidates from key markets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably with a concentration in marketing and a strong understanding of luxury wine and craft spirits a strong need.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in a related role, preferably in the beverage alcohol industry, luxury, fashion, or PR with an understanding of the job function, marketing, sales needs, and the three-tier distribution system. Experience in development of high performing teams. Ability to motivate and manage to achieve desired goals and evaluate their results.
  • Expert knowledge of marketing principles, practices, tactics and tools; ability to synchronize consumer insights, sales and volume data to identify market opportunities and issues to drive both brand development and volume performance
  • Creativity and the ability to follow through on marketing projects from inception to completion; previous experience with marketing program design and implementation; ability to execute marketing strategy at the local level
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills are necessary; requires excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well across all levels of the organization; must be comfortable with public speaking and presenting marketing content in front of large and small audiences; must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with both internal and external customers
  • Successful track record of working with and activating within luxury, high end events and places.
  • Progressive experience working with vendors in the design, production and distribution of POS marketing materials and the management of the budget process. Procurement experience a plus.
  • Must be able to make decisions independently and recommend viable solutions to problems and issues.
  • Must have a high degree of proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; must be comfortable working with personal computers and be able to adapt to additional software programs for marketing/creative design
  • Must possess a confident, pro-active, creative, and collaborative style that assimilates well within a team environment. Maintains positive and can-do attitude and approach to work. Must operate with a sense of urgency and a customer-first approach. Must take the initiative to learn and acquire new skills and abilities and improve upon existing systems and programs.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, action-oriented team where priorities change and time frames are critical
  • Must possess excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills. Ability to guide projects from conception to fruition within established timelines and budget is essential.
  • Highest degree of ethics and professional conduct

Preferred Qualifications

  • WSET 2 wine and WSET 2 spirits certifications or higher (or certification equivalent).

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods. Lifting may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

The salary range for this role is:
$131,400.00 - $205,500.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. At Constellation Brands, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
