The Senior Engineer of Digital Measurement - Data Engineering will be instrumental in implementing robust digital measurement solutions for MLB's wide portfolio of consumer products, enabling comprehensive tracking and analysis of fan engagement. This is a hands-on role where you will provide technical expertise and drive strategic initiatives to enhance MLB's digital measurement capabilities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on digital measurement and analytics.

5+ years of experience with Adobe digital measurement toolset including Analytics, Target, and Audience Manager

  • Hands-on experience with product analytics software such as Adobe Analytics, Adobe Audience Manager, and other Adobe tools including implementation, configuration, and customization.

  • Experience debugging client-side applications

  • A strong understanding of HTML and intermediate-to-advanced JavaScript skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be detailed oriented with logical problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Nice to Haves

    • Passion for sports and a deep understanding of digital media and fan engagement trends in the sports industry.

    • Experience with Adobe Customer Journey Analytics, Adobe Data Collection and associated SDKs.

    • Experience with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

    • Develop and implement a best-in-class digital measurement infrastructure for MLB's digital products spanning web, mobile applications and connected devices, ensuring consistent, timely, and accurate data collection and reporting.

    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to translate business requirements into technical requirements, conduct QA/validation, deployment to production, and post-production validation

    • Ensure solutions comply with data privacy regulations and industry standards.

    • Develop dashboards and reports utilizing Adobe Analytics Workspace to visualize and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics

    • Continuously monitor data quality and proactively troubleshoot tracking issues, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of analytics data

    • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in digital measurement and analytics, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

    Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $135,000 to $155,000.

    As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, MLB believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees.
