The Food Service Attendant (Food Preparation) for the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) assists kitchen staff by preparing food ingredients. This role ensures the quality and stability of products by complying with production guidelines, following standardized recipes, and by overseeing product quality through adequate storage and product rotation.
Responsibilities
- Complete all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager on duty.
- Prepare workstation with required ingredients and equipment and keeping station sanitary and organized throughout the shift.
- Measure quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients.
- Label and stock all ingredients on easily accessible shelves.
- Wash, chop and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats.
- Parboil food, reduce sauces, and start first steps in various dishes.
- Adhere to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and comply with JRTC procedures.
- Assist with other Food & Beverage tasks as needed including but not limited to line prep, dining room operations, dishwashing, and concessions operations.

Qualifications & Skills
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers.
- Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card.
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
- Critical thinking and time management skills.
- Ability to operate industrial machinery and carry loads up to 50 lbs.

The Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC), operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) located in Vero Beach, Florida, serves as a year-round hub for amateur development initiatives and events designed to diversify and strengthen the talent pipelines of baseball and softball. We are the permanent home to several signature youth-focused events and programs, such as the Nike RBI World Series and the Hank Aaron Invitational, which teach players how to succeed on and off the field. The historic facility, formerly known as Dodgertown, was renamed Jackie Robinson Training Complex in honor of its trailblazing namesake.
